Generic “thanks everyone” feels nice, yet doesn’t ignite. Think about it, what are you “thanking everyone” for? Specific, genuine appreciation does. That’s it. It’s really quite simple.
💡 84% of associates say recognition motivates them (I think the number is actually higher, yet ok). Companies with strong recognition programs see 31% lower turnover (what about the associates who are still technically working, yet unmotivated-what kind of performance will this bring?).
When you say exactly what someone did, why it mattered, and how it made a difference-you signal: I see you. You’re valued. You matter. Please keep doing this behavior.
The critical part here is that you mean it. I mean, that you are authentic in your appreciation and that you are not doing it to check off a box. Your associates will know if that is the case. Trust me.
👉 Instead of “Great job,” try:
“Thank you for leading that client call with such clarity-it built trust and moved the process forward. This project means a great deal to me, our team and our company, as it now gets us even closer to meeting our overall company goal of accomplishing this project smoothly by year end.”
Specific appreciation that is genuine and real, fuels performance, loyalty, and confidence.
So, let’s stop saying “thanks for everything” and start with “Thank you for...”

✨ New Beginnings ✨
Two Years ago, on 9.13.23 I had my own new beginning. I created Clarity 13, my Executive, Business and Leadership Coaching practice.
Like any new beginning, it came with excitement and challenges, and unknowns-yet also with such possibility. What started as a vision many years prior was solidified on 9.13.2023. Today, Clarity 13 is my practice, my very own business, where I get to coach leaders, teams, and individuals as they step into their own new beginnings. My dream of helping people show up in their very best selves to create clear, positive, healthy and successful workplaces and businesses is alive and flourishing!
I had to start somewhere and could not let my dream die.

Our Inner World Reflects In Our Outer World-Happy Monday 💡 ❤️ 💫 !
This week, we are reflecting on how our inner world (how we think and more importantly, how we feel) reflects in our outer world, our physical space and how our physical environment dramatically influences how we are feeling.
This is not a new concept. In fact, take a moment to assess your space. Your desk, your office, your car, your home, your digital life. What is your space telling you?
Last week, I had the privilege of cofacilitating a feature presentation at our The Westport BNI
meeting with Bridget Flynn
, the owner of Divine Organizing. We helped our colleagues do just that. We helped them think about how the way they are (or have been feeling), is reflecting in their outer world. We talked about the science of energy and how we can literally change how we are feeling by changing our thoughts, in order to reflect in our outer world (the work that I do with my clients). Additionally, by changing our physical space (the work that Bridget does with her clients), we can change how we are feeling and change our outlook.
Whether you are a CEO, solopreneur, or creative, your environment tells a story about your mindset, emotions and leadership style. 💡 ❤️ Leadership isn’t about transactions-it’s about relationships.
Not long ago, I was speaking with a client who felt disconnected from their leadership team. On paper, everything looked fine-meetings were happening, tasks were being completed-but the spark was missing. My client felt it and you can bet their team felt it too.
When we dug deeper, they realized they had been focusing almost entirely on getting things done and forgot about continuing to get to know the people doing them. They were busy, the team was busy, auto-pilot set in. After my client realized what had happened and why, he shifted his leadership meetings back to to creating genuine conversations, asking questions, and truly listening. Everything changed. The team immediately began to feel more valued, more engaged, and by continuing to strengthen his relationships with his leadership team, the results also improved naturally.
✨ This is the power of genuine relationships.

All In
This week we are talking about what it means to be “All In!”
Let me demonstrate the difference between a business that is “All In” and one that is not.
This past weekend, my fiancé and I celebrated our 10 Year Anniversary of being together. We booked our favorite place in Manchester, VT-The Inn At Manchester, VT for our getaway (the pictures here are from there). Let me start by saying, the Inn Keepers at The Inn At Manchester (Brian and Gabby) are “All In” and so is their entire team!
We wanted to stay longer than the 3 nights we planned way in advance and unfortunately, they were booked (and there is a reason they are), so we decided to try a new place just for 2 nights before. The place we chose was a place we have always wanted to try, as it looked beautiful and seemed to be well kept. It cost much more than our stay at The Inn At Manchester, yet what the heck, it was our 10 Year Anniversary.
The experience we had at this new place (new to us) was definitely not an “All In” experience. In fact, out of 10, I’d rate it about a 4-5. Although beautiful, this Inn lacked “life,” “energy,” and I’d say what was missing from the leadership was “care.” We checked out when our stay was over and as we were doing so, the Inn Keeper read from her computer notes and wished us a “Happy 10 Year Anniversary, may you have a continued good journey, etc., etc.” She never looked up, just read. No warmth, no eye contact, no real relationship created from the beginning of our stay. Just someone who went through the motions only. I will not share every detail that created in us a feeling that we will never go back again. This business owner was not “All In.” and everyone felt it. The customers, I bet the staff, everyone who interacts with the business. In time, what will happen to this beautiful Inn?
We then checked into “The Inn At Manchester, VT.” We were immediately welcomed and greeted by Todd, who carried our luggage to our favorite room, where there was a a bottle of our favorite Cabernet, with a hand written note wishing us a “Happy 10-Year Anniversary from Your Inn Family.”
These Inn Keepers, business owners, entire team, is consistently “All In.”
All In
You are a CEO, a business owner, a leader and you are getting just ok results. This could be in one aspect of your business, or across the board.
Pause and reflect for a few moments. Ask yourself if you are giving it your all. I mean, are you completely invested in your business, or are you “hoping for the best,” “seeing how things go,” and/or “waiting to see how so and so will perform.”
Now, think about another time you’ve had this same approach to something. Anything. At work or at home. In life. How did it turn out? Here’s the deal in life, in our businesses and with our teams-In leadership, there’s no halfway.
Our people feel it when we’re distracted.
Our companies suffer when we hold back.
Our businesses stall when we hesitate.
Being “All In” means showing up-fully present, fully committed, and fully aligned with our values.
It means leading with clarity, even in uncertainty.
It means caring for both results and people.
It means believing in ourselves completely.
When we are all in, we inspire others to be the same.
And that’s when workplaces become clear, positive, healthy and successful.
So, ask yourself-are you all in?

Let’s get personal. I’ll share first.
No fear for me means, stop worrying.
My fear has traditionally played out as worry and it has always created resistance. It takes me away from all that is good, all that is absolutely beautiful in my life and in my work. I’ve had to work on this myself and it wasn’t until I became aware of this state of worrying and how it became paralyzing either in moments during the day, or in the middle of the night, when I decided I needed to stop. I often worried as I was anticipating a full day without much downtime, a new project maybe I haven’t worked on just yet or fearing some part of my life and work that just wasn’t feeling right to me.
This is when I decided to ask myself, “What if I wasn’t worried at all about this?” What if I thought about this thing that I was previously worried about, what if I thought about it with excitement? WOW, everything literally changed in that moment. Fear, which I know to be 100% catabolic, draining, destructive, distracting energy was GONE and I felt amazing, excited and now approaching my initiative, project, thing that wasn’t where I wanted it to be in my life with enthusiasm, joy and literally anticipation!!!
Today, I help many clients do this, eliminate their fear when fear sneaks in and even when fear has been a constant in their work and personal lives. I’m here to help you. Help you in your life, help you in your business.

No Fear.
Fear is sneaky.
It doesn’t always show up as panic or terror. Sometimes it whispers in your mind:
-“What if I fail?”
-“What will they think?”
-“I’m not ready.”
-“Maybe I’ll wait a little longer.”
This is Level 1 energy in action-where fear creates resistance, and resistance keeps us small.
We don’t take the leap.
We shrink.
We hide.
We Overthink.
We stall.
And that fear? It feels real. It can trigger anxiety. It can paralyze. However, here is the truth: It’s often just a story we’re telling ourselves.
So, what if we asked this question instead?
💡 “What would I do if I had zero fear?”
-Not less fear.
-Not managing the fear.
-No. Fear. At. All.
Try it now. Think of something that you are worried about, you are fearful of. Pause.
Ask Yourself: What if I had no fear. What would I do?
Ahhhh... 💫
I take my clients through this exercise and they literally relax, smile and proceed to tell me exactly what they would do. Exactly how they would approach the situation.
When we remove all fear, a clearer, brighter, more aligned and more alive person shows up. Resistance vanishes.
As an executive and leadership coach, I help my clients see when fear is making their decisions for them-consciously or unconsciously. I then help them shift their energy so they can make choices from clarity, power, and purpose-not from fear.
This one simple question “What would I do if I had no fear?” can change everything?

😍 Happy Friday Everyone!
I promised some pictures and here they are!
It wasn’t easy to capture our family reunion and family vacation trip to Greece and all it meant to me, to our family, yet I’ve tried to post some of the pictures that really made me smile. I spent some time leading up to our trip talking about how important it is for us as leaders to demonstrate how important it is to relax, recharge and renew. How it is truly a meaningful leadership strategy to build into our companies and to model it ourselves. The benefits of stepping away, even if it is for a day a few days, a week, a few weeks or more are priceless.

I promise you that your life is a mirror of your thoughts and this can feel exhilarating or frightening, or some combination. I also promise you that you can create the life of your dreams. I sure can help you do just that!!!
I spend a great deal time working on myself. And, just like the work I do with my clients, it is not with judgment, yet it is with great love, awareness and desire to live my very best life and to help my clients do the very same. My question to you is: “What is the right amount of control and when does control benefit everyone”? Think about all types of control, self-control, control over others, controlling a project, a company, your home life, family. Everything that comes to mind. I want to hear all of your thoughts on control and does it serve us, serve others? If so, when? Is control anabolic, meaning highly positive and freeing? My Story continued…. When Lovesac recruited me, I put my coaching practice on hiatus to work with a dynamic company that had just gone public. The energy and the intention were palatable—from the company’s guiding principles and values and leadership team to the incredible opportunity I could see to bring their culture to life. In my time as Senior Vice President of People and Culture, I created our People Strategy that put employees first, in a real culture of care, belonging, engagement and empowerment.
Throughout my career and personal life, I’ve experienced so many high’s and and a few crushing lows that took everything (my faith, belief in good and knowledge I’ve gained) to overcome. The difficult moments made me even more compassionate, empathetic and oh so, determined to continue my lifelong journey of helping others.

I am a Certified Professional Coach, Energy LeadershipTM Index Master Practitioner, business owner, leader, and a long-time human resource professional (PHR).
My passion is and has always been people and business.
Growing up in my parent’s diner in working-class Danvers, Mass., I developed a gift of engaging both customers and employees, making them feel welcome and valued. From a young age, I understood how this creates an exceptional business. Furthering my keen interest in human behavior, I earned a degree in psychology from the University of Vermont. After graduation, I began a career with one of the world’s largest retail companies, Jones Apparel Group, where over 22 years, I had leadership roles in sales, operations, training, development and human resources.
As Vice President of Human Resources, I was responsible for approximately 14,000 corporate and retail employees, with a personal goal of helping people from the C-suite to the loading dock and gradually shifting the culture of this huge company to a place where everyone felt respected and that their contributions were appreciated.

Moving to Yves Saint Laurent for the Americas in a VP role, I built a people-centric culture throughout the region during a time of rapid growth. At the same time, I gained international work experience, creating bridges to our team members in our French home office and other countries of operations. My time there was challenging and rewarding, yet I understood there was a different path for me to use my experience and insights on a different scale—this time, helping executives, business owners and individuals who want to optimize their work and personal lives. I enrolled in a certification program and rooted my personal philosophy in the transformative power of one-to-one work, which helped inform my coaching practice with a focus on individuals. Happy Monday Everyone! This week, we are not going to be afraid to share our story.
When I work with my clients, they answer many questions. What a surprise, a coach and prior HR person asking lot’s of questions 🤣, now that’s different! One of the most critical ones we answer is “Why”? Why did they start their company? Why are they doing what they are doing? Why are they drawn to doing it in this manner? We dig in deep and we get to the heart of it. Then, I ask them to share their story with their senior leaders, with their associates, with their family, with their clients, with their customers. They often look at me funny. They do not always understand just how much it matters to their team, to everyone they interact with to their business.
Our “Why” reveals who we are at our core. When we share it, we are sharing who we are and this is what draws other to us. This is who we all want to know. We want to know, your strengths, your struggles, everything.

A client recently came to me feeling stuck-bright, driven, successful on paper, yet creatively blocked. Every solution felt forced. Every decision, reactive.

This week, let me share a personal story to kick us off.
Throughout my life, I spent many years in corporate America as the head of People and Culture (HR). I loved my work and most of all, I truly loved helping the companies I worked for to create something different. Something that unfortunately many companies just don’t get to and sadly, don’t even try. What I wanted to create were companies and workplaces that genuinely cared about their employees, treated them as humans and empowered each of them to be exceptional in their work. It wasn’t magic, it was simply a deep, genuine belief I held. I believed (without doubt) that by treating everyone really well, we would create a vibrant company filled with really fantastic employees and in time, exceptional results. I wasn’t always sure how I would execute this transformation, I just knew that I/we would. It all started with an image (and a knowing) and ended with very engaged employees, real tangible, measurable positive results, increased market share. It all started with a vision, just like everything else in my life (and in yours).
After over 30 years of helping about 3 companies create these exceptional workplaces, it was time to make another big change myself and once again, I needed to create . And, so I did. Today, I help many companies and leaders transform their workplaces and themselves through my Clarity 13, LLC Executive, business and leadership coaching practice. Every Monday morning, one of my clients starts their team meeting with a simple ritual: First she asks everyone what their highlights were from their weekend (what made them happy, feel rested, anything they want) and then asks them: What is the one thing you would feel really good about if you accomplished it this week?
It takes 10-15 minutes. No slides. No metrics. Just people being human.
Over time, something shifted:
-More voices at the table
-Deeper listening
-Greater ownership and trust
Whether you begin a week this way or reflect on the prior week, or create a different ritual or many others altogether, rituals create belonging, psychological safety, and alignment. It does do so through pressure, yet through consistency.
Rituals are not fluff. They are in fact, cultural glue. They shape how we connect, communicate, and grow-one shared moment at a time.

🫶 Tradition builds culture. Culture builds belonging.
In business, traditions aren’t just nice to have-they are connection points. When I meet with new Executives, business owners and leaders, one of the questions I always ask about is when and how often are they meeting with their teams. Are they meeting 1:2:1? Are they meeting every morning to kick start their day? How about monthly staff meetings? Leadership quarterly meetings and yearly off-sites? What traditions do they have?
Whether it’s a weekly team huddle, a founder’s story retold consistently, or celebrating wins in a signature way, traditions create continuity and meaning.
They say “This is who we are.” And that’s what people want to belong to.
This image is from my The Westport BNI weekly meetings and this is me sharing my weekly presentation. Everyone receives the opportunity to share who they are, what they do and why they do it. It is one of many traditions BNI has created internationally to foster connection, inclusion and success amongst its members.

🆘 We would want nothing more for the people we love and care about, than to give them everything they need to feel good again, after feeling the weight of stress in their lives. Pause and think about this for just a quiet moment. Wouldn’t you do everything in your power to help your loved ones when they are feeling overwhelmed, burned out, depleted?
Then why don’t we help ourselves in the same way? I’m beyond guilty here myself and I couldn’t be more vulnerable or honest about this. I keep going. I dig in and muscle through. I’ve done it my whole life. I’ve always had big roles, outside and inside my home. My family, my friends, my work colleagues (often thousands of associates and members of my team that I felt responsible for), my clients all needed me, while I placed me at the end of this never ending line. Because I’m responsible, I don’t want anyone to feel less than and I didn’t listen to my own warning signs. Physical and mental fatigue, fog and much more.
Logically, we understand the “put your oxygen mask on first” concept, yet we put it aside. Over and over again. How about we simply decide that loving ourselves and taking care of our own needs that fuel us naturally and whole heartedly is our first priority and we treat ourselves with the much needed love, care and support we need?
My mindset has changed over the years as I’ve learned from my own set-backs, my own burnout and from watching many others do the same. Others who are resilient, others who didn’t listen to what they needed. Let’s just STOP doing this and commit to US, to what we need, what fuels our body, mind and soul and when we are full, I promise you our lives, our work and our care for others will be even stronger, more genuine. We just may provide greater insight and support than we ever have.
Let’s take good care of US by taking good care of YOU 🙏❤️🩹💪!!!

😥 🥹 We can call it lots of different things. Burnout, stress, feeling overwhelmed. It doesn’t matter what we call it, we know when we feel it and we must pay attention.
Stress doesn’t care what our role is, who we are, or what we are responsible for. It takes over and before we know it, we know that if we continue, it will not be good.
I have reached burnout personally a few times in my life and because I have felt it first-hand, I understand completely that when we are in this state, we are not our best selves (to say the least). In fact, we feel almost foreign to the high functioning person we used to be yesterday, last week, last month, last year.
This week, our only accomplishment is to give ourselves permission to unplug, step away, take things off our list and focus on asking ourselves the most critical question at the moment. What do I need to feel better? Then, we must do it. What you need is personal and how long you need it is also personal. Do not be afraid to take good care of yourself. You are worth it, you need it and when you feel better, learn from it and make the changes to help your future self.

Why Coaching?
Let’s wrap up this week with a final thought about coaching. Working with a coach is personal. We need to find someone we trust. Someone we can be vulnerable with, someone we have confidence in and ultimately, someone who can help us reach our goals with clarity.
The greatest benefit in hiring a coach is accelerated transformation. A coach helps us see blind spots, challenges our limiting beliefs and helps us stay, undeniably accountable. What might take us a year, or even a lifetime, can happen in months, with the right guidance.
How do I coach? In my Clarity 13 practice, I coach in a few ways that may or may not work for everyone. I coach with a fundamental belief that we have everything within us to reach our full potential. I coach with a knowing that I can concretely show my clients how their level of consciousness is creating their reality (and moreover, how to raise their consciousness) and I coach with a drive that makes a clear connection between transformational leadership and business success.

Let me begin by asking you to think of the people who have influenced you throughout your career. The leaders that you just loved, who believed in you and who you would follow anywhere they went. For me, there were a few and they each had humility. They were able to exude confidence, without ego, they cared, they believed in me and they were never afraid to say they made a mistake.
Being humble means that we recognize our imperfections and in doing so, we create a comfort and engagement in those we lead, like no other. I’ve always wanted everyone I interact with to feel loved, to feel cared for, to feel heard and to know that I needed them and that they didn’t need me.
Let’s step into this weekend letting our team, everyone in our company, everyone we influence know that we are imperfect and we need them to help us be a unified, powerful, collaborative and caring team. It is this team that will be a force that is fueled by all that is good.

🪞⛰️👣🙏❤️ Humility-Not easy, yet so worth it!
I was in my mid 30’s and a Director of HR. I wanted to be promoted to VP and I was wondering what was holding me back, as it wasn’t happening. There wasn’t a result I didn’t meet and I was quite successful, yet, no promotion. Then, something magical happened. I worked with a coach! I learned so much about myself, my tendencies, my beliefs and to this day, the experience changed me dramatically. In fact, I knew then, that one day, I would also want to become a coach.
One of the greatest lessons I learned was that I didn’t have to get it all done and I didn’t need to have all of the answers. I thought my coach was kidding when she shared this information with me. She wasn’t. From my work with her, I learned to show my humility, to admit I didn’t have all of the answers. All of a sudden, everyone felt more comfortable in my presence and so did I!
None of us are not perfect leaders, perfect humans. Once I showed my authentic self, with all of my real imperfections, everything began to click for me, personally and professionally. Yes, I went on to get promoted, yet what I learned about myself with her effective coaching transformed the way I lead and how i show up for everyone up until this day.
Don’t be afraid to show your humility. It may be the most powerful thing you do for yourself and everyone around you!

☕️🍽️📲☎️❤️🙌🚀 If we have spent any time together and you have heard my story, my “Why” and how my journey started, my journey to help positively transform leaders and companies, then you know that for me, it started in my family’s diner.
I learned at a very young age that the way I interacted with my coworkers, my mom (I guess my boss :)), my colleagues (everyone who worked at our diner, including my brother, George Yfantopulos) and with my customers, I had the ability to make or break their day. I learned that when I provided great warmth and genuine, caring customer service only great things happened. So, at about 8-10 years old, taking care of others meant providing them with beautiful, customer service. The customer service that mattered, the service that made them feel welcome, the service, that made them want to stay and want to come back. The link between leadership, exceptional service and a flourishing business became embedded in my brain and in my behavior and I wanted to share this with the world.
I want to offer so much about this topic, customer service with you this week. Why are WE winning? WE are winning because we have gained great insight this week into understanding that conflict and everything that goes along with it, like blame, defiance, getting one over on someone, are all losing battles. Frankly everyone loses, even the person who decides that they are right and the other person is wrong. It may feel good for a moment, yet the long term negative effects of blame are real, both on the engagement of our teams, our workplace and on us, physically.
We have learned that us, CEOs, leaders, business owners who want to evolve who they are as a leader and as a human are not the ones who have to win the race, be #1, get the blue ribbon. No, in fact, it is us leaders who have worked on themselves who have gained the wisdom that real winning comes from losing, sitting back and cheering your team on, bringing out the best in others, taking the back seat, not needing to take over the stage.
And, when it comes to conflict, us leaders who want to truly bring out he very best in our time, who want them to shine, to be empowered, to soar are the ones who realized that no one wins when there is a clear winner and loser.
So, let’s consistently take that high road, initiate the conversation to work through our conflict with our team and with everyone we know, because it is when we both win, everyone wins!!!

😡😠➡️💪😁🚀It’s inevitable, Conflict will occur in the workplace. Frankly, it occurs everywhere, all of the time. And, although it can turn out for the best, it simply does not feel good when it is happening. When things don’t feel good, we don’t make good, well thought out decisions. The reason for this, is conflict occurs when we view things as black and white, when there is a clear winner and a loser.
So, let’s think about this. If you are in a conflict with one of the members of your team, your company and you want to win. What does this make them? A loser? The person you hired, trained, empowered to do a fantastic job for YOUR company. Does this sound logical? OK, I get it, agree to disagree. However, in the meantime, no one is feeling great about this, not you, not your team member, not anyone who is aware and, perhaps it’s even spread throughout Your company. Again, how do you think YOUR team member feels if they feel that they are right and you feel you are right?
I’m hoping you are getting the picture, or even better, feeling just how catabolic this situation is and will continue to be unless you do one thing. Take the high road! The high road is always less occupied, yet feels better than any other road available. We already know what the low road feels like. Yes, low. So, what do you do? You initiate the conversation and the conversation goes something like this: “Hi, I wanted to reach out because I’ve been thinking a lot about the conflict between us and it doesn’t feel good to be on opposing sides of this situation. “You matter greatly to me and to this company and you clearly have a very good reason for feeling the way you do. I don’t like the conflict this has created between us and I’d like to learn more about why you feel the way you do. I trust you and am hoping that we can put our heads together and come up with maybe something even better. What do you think?”
Thoughts? I promise you that if you try this, you will have created a loyal, trusting team member who respects you and feels valued, trusted and cared for. Think about how strong this relationship will be going forward?
Problems have solutions. Conflict can turn into Strength!!!

First, let’s define what it means for your associate’s to be engaged at work.
I believe in making things simple. So, let’s define what it means for your associates to be engaged at work. The easiest way to define is engagement is this: Do your associates bring their hearts and their minds to work? Ideally, all of the time. Yes, consistently.
Now, think about your leadership and ask yourself honestly, what do you do to make sure this is the case? Yes, YOU? What do YOU do to demonstrate that you genuinely care about your associates, which is the primary thing that will engage their hearts. In fact without it, they will not take your lead, they will go through the motions. Secondly, what do you do to empower them at all times to use their own minds, creativity, skills, style?
Now, let’s ask. Why would we want to ensure our associates are highly engaged at work? The answer is also simple, because one, we care about our associates and want to employ individuals who love their work and go home to share how happy they are with their family and loved ones and two, it is the best thing you can do for your business because, at the end of the day, you are the CEO, the business owner and the leader and your team of associates are the ones who are doing the majority of the work for you and your company. When they love their jobs and take pride in them, they bring their best self to work every day and this will bring out their creativity, drive, talent and together, your business WILL SOAR. PERIOD.
So, how would your associate’s rate their engagement at work?
If you think 90-100%, then you are an outstanding leader who must have a healthy and successful business. Anything less, you are leaving business behind and disappointing your team.

💡😃💃🏻 Happy Friday Everyone!!!
So, I had to take my own advice this morning. I woke up in my normal pretty happy state, began my morning ritual (that fuels me and sets me up to have a great day) and then...I couldn’t access my meditation app. Nope, it just kept swirling and swirling. I tried so many things, rebooted my my router, unplugged everything, talked to myself so I wouldn’t get frustrated and ultimately determined my internet went down.
What does this mean for my day? Well, I can’t meditate to start my day as I like. I can’t do the majority of my work, no zoom calls, and so on and so on. I felt my Level 2 energy rising (my often default) and started coaching myself. So, I did what I could, I went for a walk! On that walk, I decided to take my own weekly coaching advice and reframed the situation. I took deep breaths throughout the walk, enjoyed nature and thought about the situation differently. I calmed down. This was critical in the process. I was able to get to an anabolic state and move to problem solving and reassured myself that all problems have solutions and that when I got back, I would call my internet company and take it from there.
Tada!!!! There was a power outage in my area :)!!! This is normally not great news, yet it was great for me and I felt so much better! The issue was real, not just my own incompetency of some sort and I was able to put to practice what I preach. I didn’t allow myself to stay in my catabolic, worried state, I shifted!
So, PLEASE try this the next time you face a situation that instantly may put you into a stressful state and see how it works for you!!!

💡🤔😊👏🎈🚀 See that smile on my face? I just shifted my thinking about a problem I have been facing and went from frustration, to feeling like a weight has been lifted!!!
The weight of my own perspective that is and the way I have been thinking about the issue has simply been keeping me in a holding pattern. So, I decided to take my own advice and change the way I thought about the issue altogether.
That’s why I am smiling, because I am not longer in resistance, I now feel happy and excited to take the next step to solving my issue!!! WOW!!! I feel great and all I had to do was change the way (the familiar way) I was thinking and perceiving the obstacle and all of a sudden, there was no obstacle!!!
I’ve encouraged us all to do this this week, take the one thing that has been taking us down the most and reframe how we are viewing it until we feel good, then, we will know that we are on the right path to overcoming!!!
As CEO’s, business owners and leaders there are endless benefits to entertaining a different perspective and the most beneficial is that we will actually find a solution!!!

☘️😊❤️Happy St. Patrick’s Day and Happy Monday!!!
💡🤔💪 It’s Monday and we are headed into a new work week! As CEO’s, business owners and leaders, we want to show up as our best selves at all times. However, we are indeed human and as humans, maybe we are heading into this week with something weighing on our mind. Maybe it’s a new thing, maybe it’s been weighing on us for awhile. Due to the fact that we are indeed human, we have created a set of beliefs that we have had for a long time. These beliefs, in simple terms are thoughts we have kept thinking about and they have shaped our thought pattern and preferences.
All of this thinking and perspective is natural and most of our beliefs serve us well. And then, there are some beliefs that simply do not help us. In fact, they keep us in a catabolic state where we can get stuck, where even strong negative emotions surface. Again, all natural, yet, at the end of the day, we can’t seem to overcome these specific ways of looking at things and certain obstacles just keep surfacing. In fact, these can be the same problem that you somehow just haven’t overcome.
So, what do we do? As a coach and someone who has helped hundreds, if not thousands of individuals overcome obstacles their whole life professionally and personally, we must find a way to move forward and reframe the way we are viewing the obstacle.
It is only when we can view the obstacle with a different filtered lens that we can indeed, and once and for all, “remove” the obstacle. There are several ways of doing this and I can’t wait to show you how to create this tool, have it permanently in your tool box and it will help you in the short term and in the long haul.
Try it this week, take the one thing that you simply can’t get over and reframe HOW you are viewing it until you simply feel better. When you feel better, move toward the solution!

💡🗣️🙍♀️🙎♂️👏 Initiate The Conversation when things go south!!!
As CEO’s, business owners and leaders, we all know when relationships at work (and at home) don’t feel right, when something just feels off. These relationships can be among your team, with you and a team member, with you and a business partner outside of your company, with a vendor. You may not be able to figure out where on when it went it went south, yet boy can you feel it! In fact, many can feel it (your workplace can feel it) and that is because the energy that arises in conflict is mostly catabolic (80% in fact), distracting, draining, non-productive. And, clearly preventing us as leaders from leading clear, positive, healthy and successful workplaces.
What do you think is the root cause of issues at work? While pinpointing a single “root cause” could be considered overly simplistic, workplace issues often stem from communication breakdowns, unclear expectations, and lack of effective leadership, leading to misunderstandings and frustration.
With this said, we can continue to wait it out, see if it resolves itself, pretend it will go away, ask someone else to handle it. Or, we can lean into the incredible, empathetic, leader that we are and we can initiate a conversation with this person. Trust me, doing this one thing and then having a two-way conversation where you demonstrate real care an concern will not only resolve the issue, it will create trust and will help you build loyalty among your team.
So, do not wait!!! Initiate the Conversation and I want to hear how it went!!!

I’m simply not a fan and let me tell you why.
As an executive, business and leadership coach, long time HR Exec, parent and human being myself, I have witnessed first hand what pressure does not only to objects, yet to our employees, to our business partners, to everyone we have a relationship with. When additional, constant pressure is inflicted or perceived, it simply strips us of our ability to focus on the topic at hand and produce our very best, creative, incredible work.
Now hear me out. I am not saying that we all do not need deadlines, time frames, etc., yet once we decide upon them with whoever we are in a relationship with and clearly align on what needs to be done, why do so many leaders decide it is a good idea to constantly and consistently check in or ask for status updates? Don’t do it!
Healthy, trusting, and empowering relationships with your team and with everyone you encounter as a leader does not include additional pressure from you! Empowering leaders set clear, agreed upon time-frames, goals, frameworks and trusts others to follow-through and empower them to do their very best work without confinement and constant distracting pressure.
CEO’s, business owners and leaders, let’s refrain from pressuring our teams or anyone we have a relationship with this week and let others surprise us with their follow-through and ability to soar!

Have Faith!!!
🧠✅💯🔒⭐️This week, let’s delve into the significance of faith. When we’ve meticulously outlined our purpose, values, and leadership approach, awaiting the realization of our vision, doubt often looms. Whether from external sources or self-inflicted, doubt can challenge our patience and belief in the imminent fruition of our aspirations. Amidst this uncertainty, maintaining unwavering faith is paramount.
Leaders must resist doubt, as it only hinders progress, leading many to falter, compromise, or deviate from their path. True leadership demands resolute faith, dismissing doubt as mere resistance that arises from self-doubt or external influences. Endurance in the face of doubt is where leaders shine, knowing that perseverance will yield the desired outcomes. Remember, when results lag behind expectation, embracing faith over doubt is crucial.
Quitting only limits your potential; faith propels you further than you imagined. Stay steadfast in your belief, for the rewards will surpass the challenges.

This week, CEO’s, business owners, leaders and humans we are going to talk about FAITH!!! Yes, Faith and I promise you, although this is not a religious conversation, it is an energetic leadership one. When I work with my clients, we work on creating alignment and clarity around their purpose with their company’s mission, values and success. We do this with a clear 7-step process that feels anything but boring. Our ultimate desire is to create Clear, Positive, Healthy and Successful Workplaces/Business, all through their highly anabolic energy leadership and boy is it transformative!!!
There will often be moments in their Clarity 13 journey, when we have laid out the perfect path, have complete clarity, defined our purpose, mission, values and how we will succeed and my client will inevitably struggle with doubt. This is where we spend more time on understanding why faith in their dreams, goals, desires, mission, must be unwavering, when, despite any tangible results, they must stay their course. For, it is similar to a gardener planting a seed, it must be nourished and believed in and not focused on for it to grow into the most beautiful flower!
Without unwavering faith, we inflict doubt, we seek physical results and if they are not present (just yet), we create resistance, which is catabolic energy and takes us down a spiraling path that will not help us and will only set us back. There is a perfect plan and once my clients complete the tangible work, it is during this time that unwavering faith must be the only option. This faith comes from within and it has no resistance and when my clients stay on this path, their dreams, goals, results will inevitably arrive.

We delved into the importance of forgiving those who have caused us pain in various aspects of our lives. Understanding that individuals operate based on their current consciousness levels, we emphasized the detrimental effects of holding onto grudges, anger, and conflicts.
Forgiveness is a conscious choice that liberates us from negative energies tied to unresolved grievances. It’s not just about forgiving others but also about forgiving oneself. This week, our focus shifts to the art of letting go.
Release the narratives that no longer resonate positively with you. Shed the weight of shame, guilt, and self-criticism associated with these stories. They no longer serve you; they only hinder your progress.
I urge you to reflect on anything holding you back from advancing in life, work, leadership, or business ownership. Let’s do it, let’s talk about forgiveness. Yes, let’s go there. Let’s take a moment to think about who we haven’t forgiven. There are individuals even in our work, in our companies and definitely throughout our lives that have hurt us in their words and/or actions and we have not forgiven them, even if we said we have. Yes, THEM. You know who they are and they come to mind so quickly and then once again, you remember how they hurt you, what they did and why you would never have done anything like that to anyone and why you just can’t forgive them.
In working with people for my entire career, with an ultimate goal of helping them, particularly my clients live and work at their highest level, I can tell you that forgiveness is hard, it is deep and it pushes against our beliefs at our core. And, YES, we must do if we want to feel finally free and create the very best life and company and team and business and......
Holding on to our resentment and anger and pain hurts us, it affects our health, it shows up in physical ailments and we can honestly carry this pain (catabolic energy) throughout our lives. How many people do you know that have carried grudges throughout their entire careers, personal lives, to their grave?
So, I am here to share something, that if you can allow yourself for a moment to really believe, you WILL begin to forgive, maybe immediately, maybe in time, all you need to do is believe this, without doubt. The person who hurt you through their words and/or actions did so because that is where they were/are consciously. Humans cannot access a higher level of consciousness until we are ready to do the work on ourselves. So, that person who hurt you deserves your forgiveness as they did not “know” to do better or chose not to do better. That is where they were. YOU, however know you want more, aspire to be and do better. Forgive them (whether verbally or just for yourself).

⚡️💡🪄🎆❤️The absolute power of our Beliefs!!!
Happy New Year!!! I wanted to take a moment to share more about the power of believing, the power of our imagination, our ability to transform our workplaces and our lives from the absolute core.
I have studied human behavior and leadership my entire life, both formally and informally. My fascination was always around people, business, success and how some people lived prosperous lives and how others simply struggled. I have also witnessed workplaces become beautifully run companies that accomplish everything they set out to and also watched them immediately decline when leaders changed. It was eight years ago when I came across a learning that helped me understand it completely and also helped me coach others to understand and apply this learning. The learning has everything to do with the way we think, what we believe without doubt. The book I am reading here is Bruce Schneider’s “Energy Leadership” book. I read it as I was getting certified as a Certified Professional Coach and Energy Leadership Master Practitioner. I consider my learning a precious gift that I continue to give to others and help them transform their workplace and their lives. I believe wholeheartedly in creating and spreading all that is good in this world and in our workplaces. As we embark on this New Year, consider believing in yourself, in your dreams, in great work, in achieving everything you can imagine and you will!!!

Oh YES!!! When we feel fueled and fulfilled ourselves, we can do so much to inspire and uplift others!!! In fact, I’d say if we don’t do the necessary things to fill our own soul, deepen our connection to the things and people that matter most to us, then we just may go through the mechanics, yet our messages will fall flat, or even be counterproductive. Inspiring others comes from someplace deep within us. It is not an act of doing, it is an act of being. Therefore, take some time this week to commit to first fuel yourself with all of the things that make you feel most alive. This could be meditation, reading, writing, walking in nature, a workout you love, a warm connection with someone you care for deeply. Be and do whatever makes you feel fulfilled and alive (and is, of course, healthy :)) and watch how you genuinely affect those in your presence and everyone you interact with. Leadership is about caring. Period. First, we must care about ourselves, so we can genuinely care about others. Leadership is not a series of micromanaging things and people, it is (and always will be) about inspiring others to be and do their very best!!!

☕️+💡+💬=❤️🚀Coffee, Clarity & Conversation for Connection & Transformation!!!
There is so so much to learn from a genuine connection over a cup of coffee (or a meal, or a cup of something). When we dedicate the time to genuinely connect with someone, put them at ease (put ourselves at ease), we get into a more relaxed open space. From there, so much can unfold. First, we demonstrate how much we simply care about the person we invite for that cup of coffee, tea, hot chocolate (so good this time of year). Secondly, we actually generate (in both of us ) excitement and anticipation for the upcoming connection (research demonstrates when we have things in our calendar to look forward to, we feel impulses of joy). Thirdly, in our calm state drinking a cup of coffee, we provide space and time for genuine connection and clarity through meaningful conversation. There is no wonder why leaders do this innately. Lastly, conversations over coffee can create the clarity needed to transform any situation, issue, challenge, disconnection in one, if not both, parties. It is simply so powerful, that I created an introduction coaching program combining “Coffee and Clarity 13”! So, why not put them together? Maybe it is my roots growing up and working since I was very young in my parents diner, where I learned so much about how to treat people well, through service and genuine care. All I know is that throughout my life, career, relationships, initiating a conversation with someone else (while inviting them to a meal or a cup of coffee/tea) to deeply connect with them has not only become a favorite pastime, it has produced some of the most meaningful breakthroughs in relationships and problem solving, I have witnessed! When we can relax a bit, put our guard down and get to the heart of the matter over coffee, a meal, we can really build something incredible with everyone we know. This week, we decided to not wait for the perfect conditions. We decided to start now, start somewhere. Helping my clients gain the clarity they are longing for comes from asking them some critical questions. These are some of the critical questions: What, Who, Where, When, How and Why. We pay extra attention to the Why (initially, in particular) and the How. Today, we focus on why it is ideal for my clients to start with “Why.” “Why” is personal, “Why” is deep, “Why” is often as a result of an experience that my clients had that was not good and they desire to make it better for others. My clients are CEO’s, business owners, leaders, individuals in transition, who want to grow and who want to do better for themselves, better for their team, better for their company. There is a reason they want to do this incredible work and once they know their “Why,” they never look back, doubt their steps or give up. It’s quite simple, I write down all of my blessings in my gratitude journal every single morning.
