Ghosting is never okay. Not in business. Not in life. Because communication is the key to every healthy relationship. Happy Monday. ➡️ Stop being the hero. I’ve seen this one personally. When a CEO feels like they have to have the answer, make the decision, fix the problem, or approve everything… it can feel like leadership. Yet over time, something happens. You systematically take away the strength of your team. You micromanage. 👉 They wait. You solve. 👉 They stop solving. You make every decision. 👉 They stop bringing you ideas. You require tight supervision. 👉 They stop taking risks. 👉 Tolerance: When Is It Time to Stop? On Monday I asked: What are you tolerating? ✍ Today, I’m going one step deeper. Because as leaders, we can confuse tolerance with grace. Sometimes people need accountability. Sometimes they need understanding. Sometimes a situation needs to change. And sometimes… we need to change our perspective. I’ve struggled with this myself. 🤔 And, honestly, I still do. So maybe the better questions aren’t: “Should I tolerate this?” Try these: → Is this a pattern… or a moment? → Is this behavior aligned with our values? → Have I clearly communicated what I expect? → Am I giving grace because it’s deserved, or because the conversation is uncomfortable? → Am I holding someone accountable for something I haven’t clearly defined? → What happens if I continue to tolerate this? → What happens if I don’t? And perhaps the hardest question: ➡️ Am I giving grace to them… or am I giving myself permission to avoid a necessary decision? Leadership isn’t always knowing the answer. 💪 Sometimes, it’s having the courage to ask the right question. Have You Asked Them? 👉 A few weeks ago, I was meeting with several business owners who were struggling with the same challenge: “How do we motivate our team to perform at a higher level?” My response was simple: Have you asked them?
